Following Google-China Standoff, Motorola Signs Bing Search Deal with Microsoft for Android

Motorola has announced a new deal with Microsoft in China whereby the manufacturer will integrate Bing services such as a pre-loaded Bing bookmark in the mobile browser and a search widget along with Bing Search and Maps capabilities starting later in the first quarter through pre-loaded support for new devices or over-the-air updates for devices already available in market.

This follows Google’s standoff with the Chinese government over censorship of search results on the search providers Chinese portal and Motorola’s subsequent internal decision to move on from Google in order to recover lost marketshare in the highly competitive Chinese marketplace.
